Tutti is an inclusive multi arts organisation with a focus on breaking down barriers and boldly placing skilled visual and performing artists with learning disabilities on centre stage. The $100,000 donation will fund a two year media arts and film making project aimed at educating the wider community and people with a disability on how to negotiate respectful relationships.
Chances for Children supports and assists children and young people in regional Victoria to achieve their potential in education, sporting and cultural pursuits. The $100,000 donation will be used to fund a scholarship program supporting young people to access tertiary education, with priority given to students studying at a regional La Trobe University Campus.
Founded in 1998, Mirabel provides a diverse range of services to children who have been orphaned or abandoned due to parental illicit drug use. Mirabel will use the $100,000 donation to purchase a mini bus and will also fund a much‐needed series of recreational and esteem building camps.
Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation raises the funds needed to ensure the best possible medical care is provided to over 315,000 children who are treated at the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick each year. The $100,000 donation will assist the Hospital to purchase urgently needed new equipment – a neonatal endoscope, bronchoscope and three flexible nasendoscopes.
Giant Steps Sydney is a school that integrates therapy and educational approaches for children with autism. The $100,000 donation will be used to purchase a new bus to allow the children to attend much needed community access programmes. It will also be used for visits to mainstream schools and overnight camping trips on weekends.
Bear Cottage is the only children’s hospice in NSW providing care and support for children with life limiting illnesses and their families in a homelike environment. As food is a major component of the Cottage’s care, the $100,000 donation will be used to fund a full-time chef to ensure that all meal requirements are catered for, from the complex diets some children need, to that special birthday cake. It will also fund the grocery bill for one day each week over an entire year.
Camp Quality provides support to children living with cancer and their families Australia wide. The $100,000 donation will help cover the cost of six Victorian family camps during 2012 so that 80 families will enjoy time out from cancer in a fun and optimistic environment.
Youngcare is a national charity that provides choices in care and accommodation for young people with high care needs, providing them with the means to live the young lives they deserve. They will use the $100,000 donation to facilitate a Nursecall System, purchase rehabilitation equipment and assist current building projects.
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation promotes pleasurable food education for primary school aged children. The Foundation’s Kitchen Garden Program provides students with hands‐on experience in growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing their own delicious food, in a school‐based kitchen garden and home‐style kitchen. The $100,000 donation will provide mentoring and support for the Specialists who deliver the Kitchen Garden Program classes in primary schools to ensure the ongoing success of this invaluable initiative.
The Brisbane Youth Service – Centre for Young Women offers housing and support services to young women and their children who are at risk of homelessness. The $100,000 donation will be used to implement a ‘one on one’ mentoring program that will reduce social isolation through links to the community and assist with decision‐making and life skills.
